Dr. Edmund Ratka is a political scientist working for a political foundation in Amman, Jordan, after having served for it in Berlin and in its Tunisia office. Before, he was a
Research Fellow at the Chair of International Politics at the University of Passau and at the Center for Applied Policy Research (C·A·P) at the University of Munich (LMU), where he managed
several German-Arab research, teaching, and consulting projects, in particular with Tunisian partner institutions. He was
also a Visiting Scholar at Sciences Po Paris, the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C., and
the Institut Français du Proche Orient (IFPO) in Damascus.
Dr. Ratka holds a Master’s and a doctorate degree in political science from LMU and has also studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Aix-en-Provence. His research interests
include Euro-Mediterranean relations as well as the geopolitics and the transformation processes in the Arab world.
